Experience of working with third sector organisations
Experience
I have undertaken significant consultancy work with a range of organisations throughout the UK, latterly supporting JCCG in their growth as a Development Trust and Prudhoe Community Partnership under the Advancing Assets programme. Both have involved signicant negotiations with local authority partners across all aspects of their respective activity – Prudhoe with Lease terms and asset transfer – JCCG with funding, project management, relationship development and SLAs. Additionally I led a team supporting Doncaster NDC in developing its exit strategy in the development governance and legal structures in designated community groups, with supporting sustainability concepts and asset development strategies within a Development Trust format. I have also supported the development of former market town partnerships in establishing new community based vehicles to take forward previously funded programmes, Huntly in Aberdeenshire is one example and I further advised Aberdeenshire Council on the Development Trust model for other similar market towns eg. Fraserburgh.

Prudhoe Community Partnership
"David has advised myself as Trust Manager and Prudhoe Community Partnership’s trustees through business planning and feasibility work for the co-location of Prudhoe Library and Prudhoe Info Point into a combined one stop shop for the town. David has always been encouraging, easy to talk to and well-informed on property management, building transfer and asset business planning."

Jewish Community Council of Gateshead
"JCCG (Jewish Community Council of Gateshead) has used the services of David Milburn over the last nine months as a consultant to help us map out and implement a programme for our Development Trust which was established in 2008. He has demonstrated an outstanding range of expertise in project planning and management, organisational skills and establishing business plans for third sector organisations and social enterprises. He has also been a tremendous source of ideas and knowledge about ways to move forward and links and relationships to form. We would unhesitatingly recommend him."
