Hugh Massey has worked principally in the voluntary sector for over 2 decades , with work ranging from feasibility studies for small community centres to £1m + conversion/restoration.Clients range from newly formed CICs to a 700 year old Charity. We have used innovative community consultation techniques, with creative work shop sessions to take forward ideas and build involvement & ownership. Hugh is a founder director of the Ouseburn Trust in Newcastle as well as other third sector bodies in the North East & North West.He has been involved in the Development Trust movement from it's early days.Our range of experience extends to the care sector with projects for homeless people and those with other challenges. We are have developed skills in working with groups on producing and negotiating funding packages.We are always interested in having (sometimes extended)conversations with individuals and groups to find if we can be of assistance. We have a deep commitment to build not only good buildings but also serve and build those people involved in projects.We also have a keen and long standing interest in landscape design and have been successful in both large park restoration and in local community driven green spaces.

Hugh Massey has worked with Anne Diss in Furness on more than 12 projects over a 15 year period. These have ranged from small scale adaptions to 12,000 sq ft conversions covering homelessness, youth training, enterprise, community, horticultural/gardening and conservation schemes. Current involvement is with the phased development of a Care Farm project.

Hugh Massey is a founder Director of the Ouseburn Trust and was the Architect for the first major element of regeneration (Steenbergs Building- Housing general and special category and workshop units) and has subsequently been one of a number of Consultants to the Trust.
