Local Environmental Action Fund: Community Foundation
The Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) supports projects that address environmental issues through actions at a local level. It is now looking for applications from projects that are able to demonstrate the following outcomes:
Encouraging communities to get involved in environmental activities
Changing behaviours leading to more local environmental action
Having a positive impact on the environment
Sharing learning about the environment with others
Projects should have social and community benefits along with environmental outcomes.
Grants of between £1,000 and £20,000 are available to voluntary and community organisations for revenue and/or capital projects and occasionally grants may be made over more than one year.
Smaller grants of less that £1,000 may be awarded via Green Grass Roots Grants to small groups that are trying to take the initiative or spread the word about environmental action, or who want to grow their group into something larger and more sustainable.
The closing date for the next round is 1 February.
